The world skiing and climbing capital of Chamonix Mont-Blanc is located at the heart of an exceptional site, at the foot of the Mont-Blanc. The charming small town of Chamonix offers its visitors an impressive backdrop, as well as all of the mountain sporting activities. With its ski areas divided over 3 mountainsides, Chamonix Mont-Blanc boasts 75 Alpine skiing runs over a total of 153 kms of marked runs, 130 kms of which are above an altitude of 2000 metres, as well as 42 kms of trails for cross-country skiing. For unforgettable memories, lovers of the high-mountains will enjoy the Vallée Blanche. This is an exceptional 20 km descent over glaciers, surrounded by granite and legendary peaks; the presence of a mountain guide is highly recommended. 17 kms of footpaths have been specially prepared for those who prefer walks. Many other mountain activities are available in Chamonix : paragliding, ice climbing, coss-country skiing, snowshoe walks… Chamonix is also home to good quality indoor sports facilities : swimming pool, ice rink, tennis and squash courts and climbing wall. As for the night owls, the lively cosmopolitan atmosphere of the night will enchant them. |
